2011/05/02: C2 Microsystems Announces DivX HD Certification Of CC1200 Media Processor
Beijing, China and San Jose, California, April 29, 2011 – C2 Microsystems, Inc. announced today that the CC1200 Full HD Media Processor has completed DivX® HD Certification, enabling the playback of DivX HD 1080p videos via a USB storage drive. Rovi Corporation’s DivX Certification program enables consumer electronics companies to offer their customers a high-quality video experience across multiple device types.
The CC1200 Full HD Media Processor is designed for network media player and connected set-top box applications. The completion of DivX HD Certification allows consumer electronics equipment manufacturers to enable the play back of DivX content from USB-attached storage devices, the home network or the Internet on their CC1200-based products.
Typical HD video requires a considerable amount of digital storage space, but DivX HD video is able to maintain the highest visual quality while significantly reducing the video file size. Using DivX technology, users can fit approximately two hours of high-quality DivX HD video on an 8GB USB thumb drive.
The CC1200 Full HD Media Processor addresses the increasingly sophisticated demands of consumers through the combination of the industry’s broadest media processing capability, a powerful multi-core applications processor for a rich and responsive user interface and mature Linux-based software stack for rapid development of sophisticated products.
"The CC1200 Full HD Media Processor was specifically designed to address the demand from consumers for access to the broadest array of content through a variety of delivery channels," said Dr Jinxiang (Gene) Liu, CEO and President of C2 Microsystems, Inc. "C2 is delighted to be able to offer DivX HD Certified devices to our consumer electronics customers."
