SAN JOSE, CALIF. - April 8, 2006 - C2 Microsystems, Inc., the leading developer of fully programmable media processor for low cost, high performance and networked media,, today announced the appointment of Dr. Jinxiang (Gene) Liu as president and chief executive officer. Bringing many years of successful track record in the semiconductor industry, Dr. Liu will lead the company's strategy and execution in delivering its media microprocessor technology to the consumer and communication electronics market.

Dr. Jinxiang (Gene) Liu, prior to joining C2 Microsystems, had held multiple marketing, sales, and general manager positions in Zoran Corporation, a leading fabless semiconductor design company in the digital home entertainment field, traded on NASDAQ. His last responsibility was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the DVD Division of Zoran. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Physics from University of Minnesota.
