2009/03/16: C2 Microsystems' CC1100 Media Processor selected for FAW In-Car Entertainment System
Beijing, China and San Jose, California, March 16, 2009 - C2 Microsystems, Inc. announced today that the CC1100 media processor has been selected for the in-car entertainment (ICE) system of the Pentium B50 1.6L King, recently introduced by FAW.
Going beyond the conventional features of GPS navigation, radio reception and DVD / MP3 playback, the new in-car entertainment system allows the enjoyment of music and videos recorded on a high capacity internal storage device and the reception of mobile television broadcasts conforming to the DMB-T/H standard. The in-car entertainment system also allows access to personalized business services and remote diagnostics of in-car systems through wireless network connectivity.
The CC1100 media processor combines broad media format support with high application processing performance in a complete silicon and software solution suitable for in-car entertainment applications. The high applications processing performance and rich software development environment of the CC1100 media processor allows the introduction of significant new features accessed through a fast, easy to use interface that minimizes driver distraction. The broad media format support of the CC1100 media processor gives the flexibility to address the requirements of both existing and emerging services.
