The Tango 3 devices are intended for use in products that service both analog and hybrid analog /digital broadcast environments. The devices support the flexible implementation of region-specific and value-added features to allow the manufacturer to offer a broad range of television products.

Analog Television

The Tango 3 devices provide a highly integrated solution for analog television applications. The devices allow a complete system to be developed with the minimum of external components. The devices provide for flexibility in the selection of tuners, frame rate conversion devices and other value-added features.

Digital Television

For markets that are making the migration from analog to digital television broadcast, the Tango 3 devices support the simple addition of a digital demodulator for the required broadcast modulation standard.

Digital Television (European Requirements)

To address the specific requirements of digital televisions intended for the European Union market, the Tango 3 devices support the direct connection of products using the SCART interface and the DVB Common Interface (DVB-CI and DVB-CI+) standards through the use of an external Conditional Access Module (CAM) controller.
